About Me
Welcome to Neurotalker.com. I’m Guido Bua, a Consultant Neurologist and the founder of Neurotalker Ltd. My work sits at the junction of clinical neurology, dementia care, and the practical realities families and clinicians face when cognition changes. I created Neurotalker to make complex neurocognitive topics clearer, more usable, and more human, without losing scientific rigour.

I currently lead the Hammersmith and Fulham Memory Service at West London NHS Trust, where I work within multidisciplinary teams assessing, diagnosing, and managing cognitive impairment and dementia. A significant part of my clinical practice involves addressing diagnostic uncertainty and day-to-day variability, especially the gap between structured clinic assessments and real-world functioning.

Alongside clinical work, I serve as Chair of the local Diagnosis Improvement Group in Hammersmith and Fulham. This role involves collaboration across primary care, specialist services, and commissioners, with a focus on improving dementia diagnosis rates and strengthening the pathway from recognition to meaningful support.

My training began in Italy, with an educational journey that included Sardinia and La Sapienza University in Rome, where I earned a diploma in Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis. I continued my neurology development internationally, including training at the Institut Guttmann in Barcelona. Today, I also work with Re. Cognition Health, an award-winning private clinic operating in the UK and the USA. I’m a member of the Royal College of Physicians and the British Neuropsychiatry Association.

Why Neurotalker
Neurotalker is built on a simple principle. People deserve clarity when the brain is involved. On this site, you will find practical guidance on dementia and caregiving, alongside wider neurological topics, grounded in clinical experience and written to be useful in everyday life. My aim is to support better understanding, better decisions, and better conversations, in the clinic and at home.

Neurology, AI, and careful innovation
I work at the intersection of neurology and artificial intelligence, with postgraduate training in AI and Healthcare at the University of Warwick. My focus is clinical decision support, risk stratification, and responsible digital health implementation. In parallel, I develop AI-enabled tools informed directly by memory clinic practice, particularly to support dementia diagnostics and workflow, and to augment clinical reasoning safely rather than oversimplify it.

I also created MoodToArt, a non-commercial project exploring the intersection of emotion, neuroscience, and visual art. It grew from a long-standing interest in perception, attention, and meaning, and from the idea that understanding the brain extends beyond disease models alone.

A little personal context
Early in my career, I organised volunteer medical missions during the Kosovo War, an experience that reinforced my commitment to service and practicality under pressure. Outside work, you will usually find me reading, writing, cycling, spending time with friends and family, or returning to Sardinia.

Thank you for visiting Neurotalker.com. I hope this space helps you feel better equipped to navigate neurocognitive conditions, dementia care, and brain health with clarity and confidence.
